In Africa there are two challenges to water, access and cleanliness.
Where we are in Togo, most villages have a clean central source of water. However, not everyone lives in the center. Thus, many people must walk 30 plus minutes to get water. In an attempt to decrease this burden, many families dig a well. However, some wells are unsuccessful and other wells produce dirty water.
We have sponsored a well. We are happy to say that it was successful. However, the water is not clean.
Our present goal is to research filter system that can clean the water. Ideally this would be a system available within in Togo. If successful, we would like to continue to sponsor not only wells, but filter systems
